Two regimental histories enclosed with letter, 9 Dec. 1907, Wren P.O. [Berkeley County] S.C., to "My Dear Kitty," re reunion of "Old Veterans at Moncks Corner, " suggesting that the camp be named after Col. Peter C. Gaillard, noting good crops, and enclosing holograph copies of "Complete roll of Capt Julius T. Porcher's Company in the 10th Regiment of S.C. Volunteers (Brigade of So[uth] Car[olina] Volunteers commanded by Colonel A.M. Manigault[)], " listing 92 men, giving rank and age, with remarks on promotions, wounds, date and place of death, noting "the original roll ... I sent to Col C.G. Walker." Also includes holograph "Roll of Santee Light Artillery or [Christopher] Gaillard's Battery Enlisted into Service on Oct 31st 1861 at McClellanville, Charleston Co., S.C." listing 16 officers, 151 privates, and "List of the Original Command Officers of the Battery -- also Seargents." Soldiers in Santee Light Artillery originally served in the 6th South Carolina Infantry Battalion, Co. B.
